Enumclaw Street Fair
One of the great things about living in a small town is the different things that they do as a town. The latest thing was the street fair. They close down several main streets & different vendors come in & set up. They really have made this better & better each year. This year we went with our friends Macy & Camille. The girls each got to have their faces painted & made their own sugar straws (plastic tube, filled with flavored sugar). It was a lot of fun.
Eric was able to join us about half way through & walk the rest of it with us.

Kiersten choose a Tiger

Aubrey choose a dolphin
Such cute girls!
They also were able to choose a balloon animal to get made. When we came home Aubrey took hers apart & was walking around with the long balloon. Eric asked to see it & both Aubrey & I thought that he was going to pop it or something. But instead he said "How about a dog?" And promptly busted out a dog shaped balloon. Who new? The man never ceases to amaze me with all of his hidden talents. I do love him!

Happy Birthday Aubrey!!!

Aubrey had her 9th birthday yesterday & celebrated with a great "Surf Shack" monkey party!
She had family & friends over for dinner & cake. When I asked her what she wanted to eat for her birthday dinner she replied..."Sloppy Joes!" Funny girl. So I made sloppy joes & Grammie brought Aubrey's favorite pasta salad & Nena brought a great green salad. It was a great party.
I love trying to make new shaped cakes.
This is my try @ a monkey.
What wonderful teeth!
(She got a couple pairs from Dondi & Eric2)
Lovin' all the attention & presents!
We finished off the party with mini 50's,
4 wheelers & Rock Band.
It was a lot of fun.
Thank you to all that made to drive out to celebrate her birthday. Family & friends make our lives better & more fun. I am thankful for the love that you give my family. It's crazy to think that my baby is 9. It really does go by fast.

Going to the "kinda" fair
Well for anyone that really know Eric they would know that he love to go to a fair (I think it's his inner child that just won't go away, which is a good thing I think). So any way...we always start off our fair circuit with the Loggers Rodeo in Buckley, then we hit the King County Fair, & finish it off with the Puyallup Fair. Well this year we were both out of town for the Loggers Rodeo & King County decided not the have a "real" fair. So we took off to see what the "kinda" fair was all about. It was still at the fair grounds but there weren't any rides, hardly any vendors, & not really any food. And what food there was, was really expensive. We looked at all of the animals & bought a bag of scones & left. Eric was really disappointed. But we still have the Puyallup Fair. Hopefully the weather will be good to make up for all of the disappointment.
We drove the Mustang since the weather was so nice!
What cute flowers!
Smile!
We are looking at getting a goat to help out with our landscaping :)
We thought this one was really cute!
This little piggy went to the market,
this little piggy stayed home....

Workin' with Dad
The girls & I went to help Eric out @ work on Saturday. He pour concrete the day before for a garage foundation & needed help cleaning the forms. It wasn't the most fun thing to do but it was great to be able to be with him the whole day. He would take the forms down and I would scrap them with a trowel to get the extra concrete that had stuck off. Not too hard, just really dirty. The girls cleaned up the job site. They did a really good job.
After awhile they decided that it was time for a break & watched a movie on my ipod.
The work went by fast & Eric was done a lot faster than he would have been if we hadn't come. I hope that when the girls are all grown up they will remember the time that they went & helped dad @ work!

Just For Spencer...
I was talking to Spencer the other night & he mentioned that he had looked @ the blog earlier & was upset that he had missed the big 4th party. He said that he was bummed that he didn't get to partake of my cupcakes. He asked me to post the receipt for him for the icing. So here it is...
Buttercream icing
1 pound of powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
3 TBLS milk
1 TBLS clear vanilla
Combine all ingredients & mix together on low. After the p.sugar has almost been completely combined mix it on high. (this will make it really fluffy) If you are going to die the icing don't worry @ the "clear" vanilla. Or even if you not going to dye it & you don't have clear vanilla, the regular kind will work (it just makes the icing have a little tint to it is all). ENJOY!!!

Fourth Of July Fun!
We had a bunch of family & friends over for the 4th & had a blast! Tons of food, fireworks, & fun! Our pool table room looked like a fireworks stand. The Emmett's love fireworks. Before my time with the Emmett's they would have wars. I mean real wars. They would run around shooting fireworks @ each other, trying to each other. If you look at the side of Eric's nose he has a scar with some blue coloring to it, courtesy of his nephew Blake. He hit him in the face with a Roman candle. YIKES! Luckily they don't do that anymore. Fresh strawberry/blueberry pie! The best!
Cupcakes and pretzel sticks dipped in chocolate
Aubrey got a little burn on her elbow from a firework. (She wasn't too thrilled that I was taking her picture, but you have to capture that kinda thing don't you?)
My little Olivia (my friend Nena's little girl)
Taylor & Kiersten (my other friend Karina's oldest girl)

Road Trip to Idaho
The girls and I decided to take a road trip to Idaho to visit my two younger brothers and their families. We left @ 5:00am & arrived around 3:30 or so. It was a great drive. I was a little nervous for it since I haven't ever driven that long & far by myself but I did great. The girls did really well too. I have to be really thankful for modern technology.
They watched movies on the DVD player and I listened to my ipod. It was fun to take off and do a road trip all by ourselves!
Their cousins (from left...Briella, Aubrey, Kiersten, & Kaitlyn)
The girls ran through the sprinkler to stay cool. The weather was in the upper 90's to whole time we were there. It even broke 100 a few days.
I bought Kaitlyn a pool because she loves the water. She would carry to hose around and play with that too. It was really funny. She would bend down & take a drink & even wet her hair down.
Hangin' out in the backyard
Spencer, Paige, & Briella came down for the weekend. It was great to be able to see them too. What a cute little girl.
We went down to a great park right on the Snake River. Uncle Taylor had told the girls to make a list of what they wanted to do when they were there. On the list was to swim in the Snake River. Uncle Taylor was a brave soul and jumped in to help the girls. It was cold but felt good to be able to cool off.
Kiersten was a little hesitant to go in but finally made it.
I love her piggy tail on top of her head.
Smile. Another thing on the list was to take pics of the new Twin Falls Temple. It wasn't open yet so we just walked around the fence. It is beautiful!
Watching a movie!
They put Aubrey's blanket over their heads when the sun was too bright to see the screen. It was a fun trip to have done. I'm glad that I have been able to have the summer off to be with them. It was a great thought to know that I didn't have to go to work when I got back. It some how made it a little bit more relaxing. Thank you Taylor, Stephanie, & Kaitlyn for letting us come and stay with you. And thank you to Spencer, Paige, & Briella for making the trip over to Tay's so we could see you too. Good time were had by all!!!
